Rewriting a pre-AI side project with Claude: FacePy Bird, three years later
In 2023 I built FacePy Bird, Flappy Bird controlled by head nods, as a Python desktop app. I gave it to Claude Code with one paragraph of instructions, and it came back as a browser game with on-device face tracking, Docker and Traefik deployment, and tests that use my 2023 face as the webcam. Here is what changed and why.

My swim headphones only play MP3s, so I built Swimlist
Shokz OpenSwim headphones can't stream underwater, so I built a site that turns a Spotify or Apple Music playlist into a zip of tagged MP3s: reading playlists without an API key, finding the official audio instead of the music video, and running it all on my home server.

About me
I build infrastructure that just works.
I'm currently a software engineer at The College Board, where I work on the BAWP Deliver Proctor team with a focus on infrastructure. I also run Capitol Creative Collective, where I develop software and IT solutions for service-based businesses.
Before that, I interned with Microsoft's Azure Core organization and on Snap's backend infrastructure, and contributed to research at Yale's Interactive Machines Group and James Madison University, where I worked on ThoughtSwap and Praxly.
Outside of work, I love tinkering with my home lab, where I run various self-hosted programs. AFK, I enjoy spending time outdoors: camping, fishing, learning to snowboard, and exploring art and photography. Martial arts is also a huge part of my life. I train Muay Thai and am a huge fan of Jiu-Jitsu.
